Dutton Ranch is a working cattle farm in the hills of southeastern Ohio and the place where Greg Dutton grew up.
Much of the land was strip-mined before Greg’s parents began farming it more than forty years ago. Over time, they worked to reclaim the property, restoring pastures, planting trees, and creating ponds and lakes. Today, the farm supports a herd of cattle alongside forests, fields, and an increasingly diverse population of wildlife.
The landscape has also become an important part of Dutton Studio’s work. It is where many of the ideas that continue to shape the studio first took hold – an appreciation for straightforward buildings, natural materials, and things that become better with time.
Over the years, we’ve designed a small collection of places to stay across the farm, each offering a simple, comfortable way to experience the landscape that continues to influence our work.
